Sonocaddie's GPS for golf
By Just Me, February 13, 2009
Pro: Size of the GPS unit is nice and is very readable. Navigating around on the device is very easy, which is helpful when trying to navigate during play. The target and green distances were correct . The `Mark `your distances is helpful for knowing what club to use during play. Lot of fun to use. Customer Service: Answered my email with a few hours and follow-up. This was great.
Con: Layout could be a little more realistic. No flyovers . Doesn't save your 'marked' distances.

I bought Sono-caddie for its graphics....it shows a pretty graphic of the entire hole, which is helpful on new courses. Unfortunately, the mapping of yardages is done by apparently non-golfers, overseas, using satelite pictures. I found that bunker-front was bunker middle or back; green front/middle/back were off by as much as 10 yards. I'm sure the GPS technology works - they just have done a horrible job mapping coordinates. I returned for refund, bought SkyCaddie. Very accurate. The greens' shape is accurately depicted graphically, and you can see how far to wherever on green you place the curser("Intelligreen") Very helpful! Highly recommend the SkyCaddie over Sonocaddie due to accuracy and intelligreen. sonocaddy gps for golf

After reviewing all the comparisons between the Sonocaddie and the new Skycaddie I went with the Sono-caddie. Another person in our foursome has the Skycaddie so we get to continue the comparisons. I believe we agree the screen and visuals are much better on the Sonocaddie. The yardage listed are very similar on both devices so I don't believe accuracy is a big issue. I also like the Sonocaddie's easy option to toggle back and forth between the full hole and the green view. You can review all the courses mapped in the the Sonocaddie database at their website including those with all hole features included. I sent them the scorecard for a small course in our area they hadn't mapped and they indicated they would have it mapped online in two weeks which pleased me. Until I get used to it, its a little bit of a distraction entering the scores and moving from hole to hole but this would be true with any GPS device. Overall we are both satisfied but I believe I have the better product with the Sono-caddie. Gulfsmith:

Love this thing! Chose it over others mainly b/c of the full hole layout as well as NO annual fee! Used several times since I purchased, and was very user friendly. They didn't have the courses uploaded (one was in Maui, other in Cozumel) and they uploaded them very quickly (2 weeks) after I sent them an email. This will only get better as more people purchase, already has most courses and I would think it will have 99% within the next year. By FrankB, January 22, 2009
Pros: Quality, Durability, Easy to Use, Good Value, Features, nice display easy to use keep your score Cons: poor instructions no hole advance, score option is a bit awkward
I've had the Sono Caddie for a year now and it is really a great product. It stores more courses and has more features than the Skycaddie (any model). Only drawbacks are the instructions are not written well (poor English) and the holes do not automatically advance. By NCGolfer, December 31, 2008
The Sonocaddie V300 is a solid golf GPS that is simple to set-up and use, with a clear and easy to read color screen. It has alot of useful and good features and I would have rated it 5 stars if it had the automatic hole advance feature like a few others have. The unit appears to be accurate within the 1 to 3 yard range as advertised for most golf GPS units. The different memberships, one which requires no fee to enroll is a great idea and should be used by other companies. It's a good value, quality product with enough features to keep any Golfer happy. I prefer it over any other golf GPS being sold. Costco:

Pros: no annual fees for downloads Cons: won't work with windows 98
This unit works good as advertised. The specs show that it will use windows 98/xp/2000/xp. It will only work with windows xp/2000/vista. If you don't have an updated system don't get this unit. The other good thing is that there is no annual fee to get new downloads as with other golf gps units. If you have windows 98 get the lesser model. Owner Ratings - Sono Caddie V300 GPS for Golf
