The Garmin nuvi 760 is another in the 7xx Nuvi series and an upgrade from the Nuvi 750. Navigational features of the Garmin nuvi 760 includes a wide 4.3" screen and preloaded maps of North America or Europe (full coverage). The Europe maps even include a safety camera database. Other aids included are speed limit display and multi destination and sorting. This feature allows you to preplan multiple destinations and have them sorted to create the most efficient route. Great for deliveries. The Garmin nuvi 760 can store up to 10 preplanned routes. It also includes "trip log" which provides a trail of up to 10,000 points, allowing you to see where you've been on the map. The "text to speech" feature is also included. This popular addition allows you to hear the street name as well as, when and what direction to turn.Included with this portable car GPS system is a FM TMC traffic receiver which is built into the 12v power cord. The Garmin nuvi 760 comes with a 3 month free trial subscription to the Total Traffic Network. The Garmin nuvi 760 is also compatible with MSN Direct. Where am I gives you your current latitude and longitude, nearest address and intersection, nearest police station and fuel station. Garmin locate remembers your location when you remove the unit from the car. Useful in finding your car in large parking lots. Travel aids include a MP3 player, jpeg picture viewer, Audio book, currency and unit converter, Garmin lock, SD card slot and headphone jack. A SD card allows you to download your favorite music, books, pictures, etc. Note that the SD card is not included with the Garmin nuvi 760. You also have the option to choose your keyboard layout either QWERTY or ABC. The included bluetooth feature allows you to have "hands-free" calling through your compatible cell phone. Pretty much knows where I am at all times, and can find most things without a problem. Bluetooth works excellently, though as many have reported, the speakerphone function kind of sucks. I really like the multiple features, however, I've not used them all, but plan to. I recommend it for anyone wanting a high end unit loaded with features. It is a reasonable price for it's contents. I researched alot of units and read everyone else's reviews before buying; even went to Best Buy to compare and get a professional opinion from them. Happy shopping and you can't go wrong with this one. I love it !! You do however have to go online to download and print the manual, I feel it should come with one. Doesn't come with case must purchase seperate, would be nice to be included.
WalMart: By break7bg, 12/17/2008 I just love this nuvi 760!!! It allows me to be hands-free of cell phone while driving, and the accuracy of the global positioning is astounding. I can recommend this product to anyone. The sound that comes from the MP3 player built inside is tremendous, too! Great gift and a great purchase. I would like to see more documentation on how to use the product with out having to down load the manual. If you are looking for a good price and want a GPC that will get you there this is the one. I was a little afraid of the 4.5 screen but it is great. I travel with it in my brief case through the airports without any problems. I would buy it again. We recently took advantage of the special on-line pricing of this product to equip all of our Patrol units with them. They have performed excellently! Our overall response times to rural or remote areas has been dramatically reduced. Every police vehicle in the country that responds to calls in these same types of areas should be equipped with one of these!
