I am very experienced with GPS systems beginning with an in-car Mercedes unit in 2002 through five portables since. This unit has excellent programming, points of interest, lane alert information and more. It is unacceptable due to the notification for turns: it counts down to 1/10th of a mile and stops at that point; one must then watch the map on the GPS and read street signs to try and turn at the correct time. Although that's O.K. in less congested areas with hundreds of feet between cross streets, it's totally unacceptable in cities. I've used it in Cleveland, Arlington VA, Washington DC, Atlanta, Asheville, Buffalo, and many more; simply, it will variously alert one to a turn AFTER passing the turn or alert one to a turn prior to the correct turn street. The Garmin method of counting down by feet and showing feet remaining is far superior. I've used this device for six months trying to get comfortable with it. I'm now going back to using my 4 year old Garmin Nuvi. By JohnnyBroc, October 31, 2010
1) Takes forever to aquire a signal. Asks if you are indoors. Usally, I am at my destination before I have a signal. 2) Shuts off to optimize when you enter an address. So you have to save an address to your address book and then pull it up from there for the system not to shut down. 3) When entering an address, numbers and letters don't register. For example, if you touch "a", the device will verbally confirm you touched "a" but it doesn't register so you need to hit it again. Not very user friendly when you are trying to keep your eyes on the road.
Overall, very disappointed.

This unit has two main flaws which given the price might not be dealbreakers for some customers.
The biggest of the two flaws is that the unit struggles to find the signals when it is turned on for at least 30 seconds to 5 minutes. I tend to be on the impatient side so this is very annoying.
The second flaw is the bluetooth speakerphone (even after the firmware upgrade). The sound quality is so poor that its literally useless. I'm really not exaggerating on that point.
