Bushnell GPS plus iGolf GPS maps Good things come in small packages

Lots of features and little money with the Bushnell/ iGolf GPS. Read golf GPS reviews and ratings to determine the best golf GPS units. About the size of a "flip" cell phone, these Bushnell golf GPS units are inexpensive for golf GPS units. With its' low cost and its' small size I was impressed by the number of features that it offers. This unit is made by Bushnell and uses iGolf maps. If you wish to map your own course, you could use the Bushnell- iGolf GPS right out of the box (you'll need to charge the battery first). It comes with a rechargeable lithium ion battery. No downloads or membership are required to use this device. For $34.95 you can get a year's subscription to download up to 100 courses. You may want to check iGolf Course Search to make sure the courses you play are included, before you subscribe. You don't need to belong to search for courses. As these courses are stored on your computer, you could quit your membership after the first year and have 100 courses at your disposal. The iGolf GPS stores up to 10 courses in the unit along with any additional points mapped by you. If you make changes to a downloaded course or map a course yourself, you'll want to upload that information to your computer to save it. The Bushnell GPS gives you the distance to the front, center and back of each green plus 4 customizable points per hole. Unfortunately, it does not come with intelligreen technology, thus if you approach the green from other than the front, the distances to the front, center and back of the green are not correct. Tracking the distance of your drive is very easy. Just press the OK/Shot button once which will turn on the Shot Distance feature. Press it again to make the start of the distance to be measured. Drive or walk to your ball and press the button for the third time and get the distance of your drive or any other shot for that matter.
The Map Golf Hole feature is also very easy to use. This allows you to add custom points to a hole or modify points from a downloaded course. To start, press the ESC/Menu button which will return you to the Play menu. Select Map Golf Hole and use the UP/Down button to find the yardage point you wish to modify or add. When that point is selected by pressing the OK button, you will be prompted to move to the position on the hole you wish to mark. When you move to that position, press OK again and you have added the custom point. Press the ESC/Menu button again to return to the menu and select Return to Game to continue and get back to the yardage screen. Although you don't need to pay the membership fee to use the iGolf GPS, the $34.95 price tag seems to be reasonable considering your time is worth something. Since your modifications are stored on your PC, if you just play the same courses, you would only need to subscribe for one year. The unit seems to be quite rugged and the the gray-scale screen is easy to read in daylight. Its' on board features and its' low price make this golf Bushnell GPS rangefinder very popular among golf GPS units.

Advantage of the Neo: It is one of the smallest units out there, very simple to operate, easy to read, low cost, you do not have to continually subscribe - once you download a course it is yours for ever. You can map your own courses or add GPS points to existing courses easily. You can measure a shot distance. The display works well even in direct sunlight. Disadvantage: You need to advance holes manually and the indicator of what hole you are on is fairly small, it is black and white, only holds 10 downloaded courses at a time, some courses that you might expect to be one download are actually two because the course lists them as separate 9 hole courses. The belt holster it comes with is kind of cheap so I just use my cell phone belt holster. I find it most helpful at courses that don't display their distance markers well or courses with undulating fairways where it is more difficult to judge distance. I also appreciate it for the range from 50 to 100. Of its features the ones you use most are distance to Center, Front, Back; the rest is fluff. iGolf GPS

It does a pretty good job. SOFTWARE DOES NOT WORK FOR MAC. Holds about 10 courses at a time. Software takes some getting used to on a PC only. I do like knowing how far the next shot is without looking around for markers. By jack jack, November 8, 2008
I wanted a GPS device so I could stop pacing off yardages on the course and have an enjoyable game and make correct club selections. I compared quite a few and wanted a entry level GPS, certainly Igolf Neo fits the bill. Pros: 1. Great entry-level price. 2. You don't know it's in your pocket. 3. Fast downloads to sync courses to handheld device. 4. Lowers your handicap by making accurate club selections on GPS distances. 5. Igolf website user friendly. 6. 20 channels
Cons: 1. Only holds 8 courses on the Neo. 2. Lots of ghost readings, 9999 to front of green. 3. Discrepancies in distances to front, back, middle of greens. 4. Buttons hard to push. 5. Annual membership fees.

Pros: Good Value Cons: need to change screen each hole
I have been watching the prices for Gps Golf products for several months. This neo iGolf gives me all the info I need. By Robeli, January 4, 2009
Pros: Easy to Use, Good Value Cons: useless belt clip
Best value for money. Mapped my local driving range - now I can practice with exact yardages. Great to know distance to center of green if you are off fairview or have blind shots to green. Have found some pre-mapped distances are 1-2 yards off, but who am I to complain about that. My name is not TW! Still cannot believe this thing only costs $150! Go buy immediately. iGolf gps

Very inexpensive. Accurate on the course tested. Easy to use. Had courses downloaded and installed in a snap. So small I could stick it in my pants pocket and not be bothered by it. Nice not to guess yardage or look for yardage markers. Made my game alot more enjoyable. Owner Ratings - iGolf GPS:
