For GPS Individual Tracking
The P Trac Mico may be for you

P-Trac Micro

At an incredible 2 inches wide and 1 inch thick, this GPS individual tracking device is the perfect solution for your tracking needs. Being small in size doesn't mean it lacks power. This tracking device is so powerfulit doesn't need a straight line-of-sight with an open sky to track using GPS in addition to Assisted-GPS. AGPS uses cellular signals to triangulate its location.

That means unlike traditional GPS devices, it can work indoors by using a combination of GPS technology and cellular signals.

You can configure the P-Trac Micro for how often to report its location. This can be done by every so many minutes, days of the week, hours during the day, you get the idea. The current location and historical data is accessed by logging onto Brickhouse Security's server. You have a user name and password to access your P-Trac information. Geofences can be configured by visually drawing them on the map or by address or by range of addresses. Alerts can be configured to notify you by email and/or SMS if the device enters or exits a specified area. For example, a parent might configure a geofence around the child's school and be notified when the child reaches the school.

The Brickhouse web site allows you to have more information than just the location tracking of the P-Trac. You can also set it up to obtain the following:

  • Fleet Status - Provides a quick snapshot of the last known location for one or more selected items.
  • Route Log - Shows an item's route for a selected time period with address data and a map view.
  • Event Details - Provides a detailed view for one or more events for selected items, for a selected period of time.
  • Pending Maintenance - Shows maintenance items due in the next mileage and/or time (days) service interval.
  • Service Log - Provides a detailed view for one or more service logs for selected items, for a selected time period.
  • Incident - Shows all of the emergency incidents that occurred during a given time period.
  • Log Summary - Shows which users have logged into the system.
  • Message Usage Summary - Provides a summary of message usage for selected items for the selected time period.
Probably more information than you really need. Like most GPS individual tracking devices, this one also leaves a "bread crumb" track which may be viewed any time. The rechargeable battery has a relatively long battery life (10 - 21 days, depending on tracking frequency).

There are two buttons on the bottom of the unit. One is used to turn the P-Trac on or off by holding it down for 2 seconds(unfortunately, you don't know if it is on or off as there is no monitor light.) The second button is the "set" button which currently has no purpose. According to Brickhouse this will be used in the updated software to set a geofence for the unit's current location.

As this GPS individual tracking unit is dependent on the Sprint Network, you may want to check their coverage to make sure it will work for you. Just click the Sprint Coverage Map.

Owner Ratings

Watch OUT! It says GPS, which makes you think that it works anywhere, but this unit ONLY WORKS WITHIN SPRINT CELLULAR NETWORK! I bought it for child tracking and it doesn't even track 5 minutes out of town. You won't find this information at the Brickhouse security website!Posted by: Carl Schreiner on December 18, 2008
