The Garmin nuvi 765T is very similar to the Nuvi 755T, but with the addition of bluetooth. Its wide screen (4.3") and slim design make it easy to take with you. Like the other high-end Nuvi portable navigation GPS units, text to speech is included with the Garmin nuvi 765T. This is probably one of the best aids you could ask for in a portable navigation GPS unit. This GPS device will not only tell you when and what direction to turn, but will also tell you the street name on which you are turning. Along with "lane assist", a new travel aid included with this unit, navigation has never been easier. The "Lane assist" feature guides you to the appropriate lane for the up-coming turn and shows a picture of road signs and intersections along with an arrow indicating the turn you should make. The portable GPS unit also displays a direction arrow in the upper left hand corner of the screen indicating the approaching turn direction. In addition, for some areas it shows a 3D rendering of buildings. A help to orient yourself to the surrounding area. "Hot fix", a Garmin exclusive, is included with the Garmin nuvi 765T. This allows the GPS device to calculate your position faster and greatly increases the speed of map redraw. "Where am I" is also included, which instantly gives your current latitude and longitude, the nearest address and intersection and the closest police station and gas station. Forget where you parked your car? With Garmin locate, your Garmin nuvi 765T will remember your location when you remove it from the car allowing you to locate where you parked. Great for amusement parks and shopping centers. With preloaded maps of North America, route planning has never been easier. With the Garmin nuvi 765T you can preplan and store up to 10 routes. Route planning also includes multi-destination planning which allows you to indicate various stops along the route. They will then be sorted for the most efficient routing. A great feature for deliveries. You may also select "eco routing" which will give you the most fuel efficient route to your destination. Of course you can always choose your route setup such as, fastest time, shortest distance, etc. The "trip log" feature included with this portable auto GPS allows you to see where you have been on the map. It will store up to 10,000 points. Another traffic aid that is included is lifetime Navteq Traffic. This feature gives you current traffic conditions for your area and can reroute your course around the traffic tie ups. It will even display the current speed limit. This enables you to make "hands free calling" on compatible cell phones. Equipped with a SD card slot (SD card not included) you can download your favorite music, pictures, books and more. It also comes with over 6 million points of interest and you can also add your own. If you would like to hear your Garmin nuvi 765T over your car's FM radio, you can do that too. The Nuvi 765T comes with a FM transmitter that will transmit your Nuvi's sound to your car radio. There is even a built-in headphone jack. The photo navigate feature allows you to navigate to geotagged photos. Download Google® Panoramio™ pictures via Garmin Connect™ Photos website and navigate to them. You may also add your own geotagged photos. Because the unit is compatible with Garmin Garage, you can download a variety of voices and icons for your unit to use. Garmin lock is also provided allowing you to secure access to your unit. User Reviews Amazon: By Russell E. Crouch, March 2, 2009 I bought this GPS after doing a lot of comparing. I updated the maps and software as soon as I got it with no problems. I use a garmin gps in my boat and bought this one for my car, both work great. I have not used the traffic update feature as we do not have the system totally in place where I live yet. The features I use work good except for the FM transmitter and internal microphone that everyone complains about. I bought the garmin external microphone for $8 and it is a big improvement. Easy to use, the lane directions were awesome in the 12 lane freeways. It was the least stressfull trip through the LA freeways I have ever taken. My 350 was taking forever to find satellites & it seemed to be getting tired & old. I travel all over - and a lot of the time it's in tiny towns - and I've had NO issue whatsoever finding satellites almost immediately. I used to sit around for at least 5 minutes (I timed it several times) waiting for satellites. WalMart: By dorro, 12/31/2008 Got this for a Christmas gift and wow it is really great. The blue tooth is fantastic with my cell phone and the mp3 being played through my radio is also crystal clear. Great great GPS with excellent directions. Simple to use it takes you within feet of where you want to go. the voice prompts are timely, the speed limit feature is very helpful as you drive along with the display of how fast you are travelling is the perfect combination. The directional turn arrow shows upcoming turns and the distance to said turn in more than enough time to react. The Lane assist feature is very helpful for highway driving. The bluetooth feature allows for hands on driving while talking on the phone. A very helpful and useful product.
