Garmin nuvi 275T GPS ratings and reviews

Garmin nuvi 275T

The Garmin nuvi 275T offers many high end features of a portable car GPS system at a reasonable price. The Garmin nuvi 275T offers the same features of the Nuvi 265T with the addition of European maps.

The Nuvi 275T includes the very desirable "text to speech" feature and also offers lifetime free traffic updates from Navteq Traffic. Coverage is limited however, and you should check their coverage areas to see if this feature will be of benifit to you. Click here to check coverage. Navteq coverage map Traffic updates are becoming an increasingly popular feature and I think you will find a considerable improvement in coverage within the next year or so. The Garmin nuvi 275T is also compatible with MSN Direct, but you'll need to purchase the receiver and subscription separately.

Bluetooth is also on board allowing you to make "hands free calling". This is a nice feature, but not all phones are compatible with this attribute. Click on this link to determine if your phone will work with this feature. Supported Mobile Phones

Other features that rated high with users were the "Where am I" feature that will give you your present latitude and longitude, the closest address and intersection, the nearest hospital, police station and fuel station. An often overlooked feature that is provided with the Garmin nuvi 275T is the QWERT keyboard. Another much appreciated feature in this economy is "eco routing" which will give you the most fuel efficient route.

The slim design of the Garmin nuvi 275T makes this portable car GPS system easy to take with you. Among the most mentioned complaints were the call quality and that the units were slow on route recalculation.

This unit replaced a stolen nuvi 270 and the improvements made in the last two years are fantastic. We like this size Garmin because it's compact and can be used when walking around a vacation city (in the "walk" mode). For the car the updates with the full spoken names of streets, the new next turn graphic and the new traffic service are awesome. Also the ability to download addresses from Google Maps makes vacation planning even easier. This is a great all-around unit!

All that you could want

By Linda A

I have been using this unit for over a month now, and it is all that it is advertised to be. It is very accurate - it even took a friend and me to a place that he swore wasn't there. Love the bluetooth and picture features. It is easy to carry in your pocket. I can't wait to take it to Europe this Spring and use the included maps. I plan on entering all the towns I plan to visit and pictures of specific sites. I would highly recommend this unit to anyone that travels in the US and Europe.

I was impressed at the re-routing speed when I missed a turn- it would immediatly re-route me. I used to own a Magellan model that did not re-route quickly. The product is very light weight. It was very easy to set up, turn on, and go. I am very happy overall.

Locked up on first turn-on in Europe and could not be reset. Had to wait until the battery died.Worked again when returned to US. Will try again on the next trip to Europe.
