Garmin nuvi 200 GPS and nuvi 200W reviews and ratings

The Garmin nuvi 200 GPS and Garmin nuvi 200W review: Most users found the Garmin nuvi 200 and the Nuvi 200W easy to use and a good low cost, entry-level GPS. Other favorable comments included the small size, internal antenna, vast amount of preloaded POIs and clear directions.

The Nuvi 200 was rated above average for its price. About the only difference between the Garmin nuvi 200 GPS and the Nuvi 200W is the screen size and resolution. All liked the larger screen of the Nuvi 200W.

There seems to be agreement that the Nuvi 200 and the Nuvi 200W are good values for what is included with the units. Most reviewers and owners felt that the features provided with the Garmin nuvi 200 GPS and the Nuvi 200W were good, useful and of adequate number.

The units' reliability was average with comments from "no problems" to "defective product". However, most of those who reported a defective product also reported the unit was replaced without problems.

Routing seemed to leave a little to be desired. There were numerous reports of wrong direction, but that could be caused by out of date maps as the overall consensus was slightly above average. The accuracy of the unit rated a 5 out of ten with many comments about wrong roads, wrong turns and illegal left turns.

The comments on the Garmin GPS maps seemed to be split with reports of old or outdated maps and a desire that Garmin provide better maps. Over all the units get a rating of 8. Based on the features provided on the Nuvi 205 which is less money, the Nuvi 205 may be a better buy.

It should be noted that Garmin has discontinued the Garmin nuvi 200 and the Nuvi 200W in 2009.
