Garmin nuvi 1350 Owner Reviews

I bought this unit thinking that it would be a nice upgrade from my 255w, but I was really disappointed. Reroute calculations are slower than the previous versions, and it continously freezes up when I received incoming calls, that is the weaker point from new Garmin software.

Pros: Easy to use - The controls are intuitive and the touch screen works well.Clear maps and routing - Maps are bright and easy to read. Brightness and background are automatically adjusted for day/night, so it's easy on the eyes. Routes are efficient and routing options are easy to select (fastest, shortest, eco friendly). Having driven it around my local area it has been great. Lane assist is helpful in unfamiliar areas. Spoken street names are nice and pronunciation is good. Knows speed limits for major roads and highways. Personalization options - variety of voices to choose from, variety of vehicle icons for the map. Fast routing and connection to satellite. I haven't had any issues connecting to satellites in downtown with all the buildings, it even finds a signal in my garage when it first starts up. Routing is quick, I can start driving and know my first turn before I'm halfway down the block.

Cons: Installing free map update and connecting to the computer the first time were not completely straight forward. I got it done and that does not take anything away from the functionality of the navigator. No bluetooth, would be nice, but not necessary.
