Garmin 7200 Streetpilot Ratings and Reviews

The Garmin 7200 StreetPilot is another in the RV and Truck GPS receiver category. With the widest screen of the Garmin portable GPS units, its' 7" screen is easily viewable from a distance. The Garmin Streetpilot 7200 7-inch GPS Receiver comes with "text to speech" which not only tells you what direction to turn, but also when to turn and on what street to turn. You can store up to 50 preplanned routes in your StreetPilot. You may also preplan multi-destination routes. The StreetPilot 7200 will sort the multiple destinations to create the most efficient route. Another routing feature is the ability to setup routes such as, the fastest route or the shortest route. Should you run into a detour "Auto re-route" will recalculate your route to get you back on course. With "Route avoidance", you can tell the Garmin 7200 to avoid tolls, highways, etc. The StreetPilot is compatible with FM traffic and XM NavTraffic and radio. Check out the following links to determine if your area is covered by either service. XM NavTraffic coverage map and Total Traffic Network coverage Note: A receiver for these services is not included and must be purchased separately. A FM transmitter is built into the Garmin 7200 allowing you to hear your StreetPilot over your FM radio. The volume level is speed adjusted, so volume levels get louder as speed is increased and muted when traffic instructions are given. A headphone jack is also included. If you plan on using your StreetPilot in Europe, please click the following link regarding the use of the FM transmitter in Europe. Garmin Legal Notice Entertainment features are plentiful on the StreetPilot 7200. Included are a MP3 player, Audio book, and you can even hook up your camcorder, DVD player or game box to the 7200 to take advantage of its big screen resolution. Over 6 million points of interest are preloaded and you can add your own. You can also select your keyboard layout (QWERTY or ABC). The Garmin Streetpilot 7200 GPS Receiver comes with a remote control that allows you to zoom in or out, scroll maps, control your MP3 player and more. Unfortunately, the Garmin 7200 StreetPilot does not come with bluetooth. User Reviews for the Garmin StreetPilot 7200

The Garmin 7200 is better than I expected. It is easy to use and the larger screen makes it very easy to follow. I am very pleased with the unit. By Robert V. Bush Jr. "bb53pilot", December 20, 2008
Large GPS advertised for a Truck. I drive a Volvo Suv and feel the 7" display to be great. With my RAM's 6" extension arm mount, it sits at the 1:30 position just behind the steering wheel and does not hide anything. With a slight glance at the large screen I see everything I need and the touch screen is positioned perfectly to make simple inputs to it's data base. Great sise for a SUV. I have owned many GPS'es over the last 15 years or so. I have used the Garmin 7200 every day for two years now. It is absolutly exceptional. No complaints of any kind. And the screen is actually large enough to see and to be able to read it.
At the price these are selling for now they are an absolute steal. I would recommend buying one now while they are still available. I just ordered a second Garmin 7200 just to keep as a spare for when this one finally does die. WalMart: Garmin 7200 By an anonymous customer, 01/07/2009
I drive an 18 wheeler and bought this to use in it. Have had a friend who has used this model for 2 years now. Found I called him more than I should trying to find one place or another. Finally I bought one in mid Dec 08 and haven't regretted it. It can't be any easier to use. Can you use it with out error, NO! Always have to remember, you're the one responsible for the route you take. This does make it easier if you are in an area you are not familiar with but, the final route is the drivers choice. Garmin customer service is top notch with any issues. By needlotsofstuff, 08/02/2008
I love the 7" screen!!! The screen is easy to use and I like being able to ouput the sound into my radio speakers. The navigation of the menu took a little time to get used to, but now that we are used to it we don't have any problems. It does everything that we need it to do for our camping and traveling needs. I do not use alot of the "extras" (sat. radio, traffic updates, etc). For basic navigation I think that it is great. After seeing mine and using it for a week my father, he already has the Lowrance 600c, got one for his personal vehicle to use around town and uses the Lowrance in his motorhome. I did have to buy a different mount for mine as I did not want to use the permanent mount that is sold with the unit and would rather have a windsheild mount. I was able to customize the routing for our needs (toll roads, interstates, etc) and we have not had any problems with it at all. Mounted in our motorhome, but easily moved to our other vehicles. The touch screen is great, but the remote comes in handy too. The size of the screen is terrific and ease of installation and set up was good as well. So far, no complaints from us! Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend. By Bobbkat, Nov. 23, 2008
This unit is VERY Dated with old (2006) Technology. Even though I only paid [$] for it, better, more recent units are available for that price. Also had to purchase an extra antenna to get XM Radio (imbeded in the unit)that cost over $200.00 and only rudimentary traffic and weather reports are available through the XM Subscription I also had to purchase. Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend. Owner Ratings for the Garmin StreetPilot 7200
